I was delighted, this morning, to discover a nice sized artichoke lurking amongst the huge grey leaves in my vegetable patch. So I picked it and ate it for lunch with some freshly podded broad beans. A chilled glass of Miss Molly Bubbly from the Morenson Estate was a good accompaniment. The perfect prelude to an afternoon spent reading and dozing on the lawn of an absolutely perfect spring day.
Thanks Gill, for the self-sufficient Cypriot story which provided impetus.
